Presenter
Michael Haynes is Canada’s most published author of trail guides, and has been a leading authority on trail development and Active Transportation. Over his 30 years in the field, Michael has been a trail user, a volunteer, Executive Director of a provincial trail organization, trail director of a national not-for-profit, a consultant and a conference presenter. He’s done all of this in eight countries on four continents as well as more than 90 Canadian communities and every province. Michael has published numerous magazine articles and aired more than 350 radio segments about trails on CBC Radio in Halifax and in Ottawa. His latest book, the 10th edition of Hiking Trails of Mainland Nova Scotia, was published in 2024.
